A New Image Recovery Center in Honor of Lyal McCaig
Omaha Publications' flagship title, Omaha Magazine, recently ran a cover story honoring outstanding individuals in the cosmetology industry (Omaha Magazine, "Legends of Hair," May/June 2007). At about the same time in HER Magazine, we were treated to the uplifting stories of cancer survivors and how they are greatly helped by cosmetology and other professionals in Alegent Health's Image Recovery Center ("Surviving Cancer is a Life-Long Process," June/July HER Magazine).
In honor of Lyal McCaig, one of the "Legends of Hair" subjects who passed away in June from lung cancer, the Omaha metropolitan area cosmetology industry is pulling together as a single force to raise funds for a second Image Recovery Center to serve even more individuals recovering from cancer. These centers are built entirely through community support and all consultations and fittings are provided free of charge. With the McCaig Family's blessing, the Alegent Health Foundation is collecting these donations and will display a Donor Recognition Wall for all gifts $1,000+ at the west Omaha Image Recovery Center.
It is our pleasure to aid this effort in honor of Lyal McCaig's memory. It is hard to imagine a tribute more fitting than supporting the Image Recovery Center.
